Authentic Byredo bottles have a distinctive minimalist label: white paper, clean typography, and restrained layout. The Byredo name and fragrance title use a specific sans-serif typeface with precise letter spacing. Any deviation in font or layout is a counterfeit indicator.
Bottle uniformity
Byredo uses a consistent, understated cylindrical bottle shape across most of its line. The glass is thick, clear, and has an even weight distribution. Fakes often have thinner glass and inconsistent wall thickness.
Label paper quality
The paper label on authentic Byredo bottles is matte, smooth, and perfectly adhered with no air bubbles or lifting at the corners. The label wraps around without visible overlap on the front face. Fakes use glossier or thinner paper that often peels at the edges.
Cap material
Byredo caps are made of matte black or clear plastic (depending on line) with consistent color and no visible seams or mold marks. The cap fits snugly. Counterfeit caps are often lighter, have visible seam lines, or a slightly glossy finish where it should be matte.
Spray output
Authentic Byredo sprays release a fine, diffuse mist. The pump action is smooth. A globby, wet, or sputtering spray is a counterfeit indicator — Byredo nozzles are quality-controlled for consistent output.

Byredo's brand identity is built around its precise typography. If letters appear too close together, too far apart, or in a slightly different font than the official one, the label is a reproduction.

Gypsy Water off-scent

Authentic Byredo bottles always have a batch code stamped into the glass base. A base without any marking is a counterfeit indicator.
